Our Goat Herd
Over the last couple months we’ve consulted with our local livestock agent at the cooperative extension office as well as our ruminant vets to help ensure our goats are living their best lives. To boost the herd’s health they’ve just completed a month of vitamin and mineral supplements and a prescribed round of dewormers. During these Winter months the goats are enjoying fresh hay and grain for breakfast and dinner, and some fresh veggies as a treat. The herd has moved into their secondary grazing area as part of our pasture rotation program which encourages healthy foraging and reduces problems associated with parasites. We’re so happy to see the goats exploring and grazing in their new space.
Please note that electric fencing is in use! Don’t touch the fence and please always assume it is ON. No extra treats at this time! BIG THANKS to the Olivette resident volunteers who have been helping with weekend feedings! If you love goats and are interested in becoming involved, please contact Kira at hello@olivetterealty.com.
